Dr. Agnieszka (Agnes) Zak-Moskal, Activity Director holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hunter College, City University of New York, a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a doctoral degree in educational leadership, with a concentration in higher education, from D’Youville College. Agnes brings extensive, varied, and effective leadership experience in developing, implementing, and leading programs and services structured to meet the needs of targeted student populations to increase student engagement, achievement, retention, and graduation. Additionally, Agnes possesses strong analytical skills and significant experience assessing and evaluating programs, services, departments, and higher education as a whole. Her research interests focus on: college student motivation and self-determination theory; program development and assessment; retention initiatives and student success; the use of technology to engage students; and emotional intelligence. Prior to joining Buffalo State, she has worked in various higher education institutions, serving in a variety of administrative, research, and faculty roles.
Sumanlata Ghosh, Data Analyst has completed her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology in India and master’s degree in Computer Science from University at Albany in New York. She has an extensive experience of working as a Software Developer and Data Analyst in Banking and Financial Industry for more than 3 years and prior to joining Buffalo State, she has been working as a Research Scientist for Data Mining and Security Storage Project. She has the experience of working with high scale secure data and providing solutions to client based on analysis and prediction.
Paula Love is an Alumna of Buffalo State College and currently serves as a Completion Coach with the Title III Grant initiative. She has a B.S in Social Work and her M.S in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration (HESAA). She worked as a graduate intern in the Educational Opportunity Program and a Graduate Assistant in Student Conduct and Community Standards at Buffalo State. She carries with her a wealth of experiences in working with students to discover answers, find solutions, and create possibilities to move forward. Paula is passionate about bringing clarity, direction, and positive support to her students. She values collaboration and working with others within the campus community. Her goal as a Completion Coach is for students to grow, reach their potential, achieve results, and in the end retain students at Buffalo State College. In Paula’s free time, she enjoys listening to music, spending time with loved ones and doing whatever else she can to lead a balanced life.
Zach Jones-Butler is an Alumni of Buffalo State College and currently serves as a Completion Coach with the Title III Grant initiative. He was born and raised in Harlem, NY. He completed his undergraduate degree at Cazenovia College where he studied sports management. While at Cazenovia College Zach was a student-athlete who played basketball and soccer. In 2021 Zach graduated from SUNY Buffalo State with a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs administration. He enjoys traveling to places with beautiful weather and nice beaches.
Sade Garcia is a Completion Coach with the Roar 2 Success Program. Sade has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Science in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration. She has background in crisis management and student support services. Sade enjoys connecting with students and providing a space where they are able to grow. She aims to continue to uplifting and support students through her current role.
Chelsea Allen is a Completion Coach with the Roar 2 Success Program. Chelsea has a dual Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has a background in data analytics and student and faculty support models. Chelsea enjoys advocating for students while creating a safe space for students to thrive. Her goal in this current role is to create support strategies that aim to address the learning needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds of students
Hilary Andelora is a Professional Advisor for the Academic Commons. She earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice and her Masters of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College. Hilary is joining us from Canisius College where she was an Assistant Director for the Griff Center for Student Success and served as the Academic Advisor and Support Services Liaison for the D1 Student Athletes. She also oversaw Canisius College’s Academic Mentoring Program for the campuses at-risk student population. In addition, Hilary also served as the Coordinator for Disability Services at Pace University in Westchester, NY.
Ariana Veltri is a Professional Advisor in the Academic Commons. She earned her Master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While newer to the Buffalo State family, she brings with her a strong background in Mental Health counseling and several years of advising and counseling experience working with first year, at-risk students in the private college sector. Ariana has a great passion for helping others explore and achieve their academic and professional goals.
Faherty Nielsen is a Professional Advisor in the Academic Commons. After growing up in Buffalo, she graduated from Wells College with a BA in History and a minor in Religious Studies. She then attended Binghamton University where she earned an MA in American History and a PhD in Race & Ethnicity: African American History with a focus on 20th Century Civil Rights and Buffalo History. After working in the non-profit world for a few years, she returned to school (again) where she earned an MS in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Assessment in Student Affairs at SUNY Buffalo State College. Faherty has over 15 years of experience working as an educator: teaching college level history and writing, tutoring student athletes, and working with high school students in preparation for college and career programs.
